US Congresswoman Elizabeth Warren criticized the right-wing Israeli government led by Benjamin Netanyahu, saying, “Netanyahu and his right-wing war government have created a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.”
In a tweet on her official social media account, the Democratic Senator said, “Netanyahu and his government have created a humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza by killing thousands of civilians in the region, and Israel doesn’t need more months of war but rather leadership that brings prisoners back to their homes.”
She continued, “Stop the war on Gaza and continue the ceasefire, work for lasting peace.”
In a grim update, the death toll among Palestinians in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli bombings has surged to 22,438 over the last 90 days, announced Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al-Qudra on Thursday. The devastating impact of the conflict is further underscored by the staggering number of injuries, with at least 57,614 individuals wounded, predominantly comprising women and children.
Within the past 24 hours alone, the conflict claimed the lives of 125 Palestinians, and 318 others sustained injuries, according to the health ministry.
A harrowing dimension of the crisis emerges as approximately 7,000 individuals are reported missing, presumed to have tragically perished beneath the rubble of their homes. The humanitarian toll continues to mount, reflecting the severe consequences of the ongoing violence in the region.
As international concerns escalate over the escalating human cost, diplomatic efforts are urgently needed to address the root causes of the conflict and pave the way for a sustainable resolution. The international community is closely monitoring the situation, advocating for an immediate cessation of hostilities to prevent further loss of life and alleviate the profound suffering of the Palestinian population.
