US Ambassador to the United Nations, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, unveiled a fresh wave of humanitarian aid totaling $163 million for Sudan and its neighboring nations grappling with ongoing conflicts.
This announcement came during the UN ambassador’s visit to Chad.
This generous contribution, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was made public on Wednesday.
This latest allocation boosts the total US aid for the year 2023 to an impressive $710 million, primarily directed towards assisting displaced individuals and refugees affected by the Sudanese war.
It is important to note that American sanctions on the region encompass visa restrictions, asset freezes for specific individuals within the US, and the prohibition of any commercial transactions with them.
