WhatsApp has introduced a new feature enabling users to craft, modify, and distribute their stickers within the app.
This update is designed to inject a playful aspect into conversations, allowing users to animate group jokes by turning photos into stickers or customizing existing ones, all within WhatsApp and protected by its end-to-end encryption.
The process of making stickers is straightforward and user-friendly. It incorporates an automatic cropping tool and a range of editing options, including text, drawing, and the option to layer additional stickers. Created stickers are conveniently saved in the sticker tray for later use.
To make a sticker, users simply access the sticker tray, select ‘create sticker’, pick an image from their gallery, tailor it to their liking, and send it off.
Editing a sticker involves a similar method; users just need to press and hold the desired sticker and choose ‘edit sticker’.
This sticker creation tool is already operational on WhatsApp Web and will progressively be available on iOS 17 and above in the next few days.
Users with older iOS versions, however, will be limited to editing existing stickers and won’t have the functionality to create new ones.
Earlier this year, the app rolled out new updates to improve user experience. Just a few days ago, reports emerged that WhatsApp is working on allowing users to connect without sharing their phone numbers and introducing a new dark mode to reduce strain on users’ eyes.
Reports indicate that the Meta-owned platform will enable users to share music during video calls, according to India Today.
