In a significant move, the World Health Organization (WHO) is preparing to recognize Egypt’s triumph over the Hepatitis C virus by presenting it with an official clearance certificate, announced Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population.
Dr. Abdel Ghaffar praised the laudable “100 Million Health” initiative led by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. He noted its pivotal role in combating the Hepatitis C virus in the nation. The campaign’s success is largely attributed to its comprehensive provision of medical and laboratory tests, coupled with effective and safe treatments available to patients.
Illustrating the magnitude of the initiative’s impact, Dr. Abdel Ghaffar detailed that over 100 million citizens benefitted from a range of services. He emphasized the ongoing efforts, pointing out that mobile clinic vehicles continue to traverse various provinces, ensuring consistent availability of medical examinations, treatments, and medication distribution.
Further accentuating the nation’s dedication to healthcare, he mentioned the continuous, commendable role of health units across different provinces. These units consistently provide services under the presidential initiatives, underscoring Egypt’s commitment to eradicating prevalent health issues.
Egypt’s impending WHO certification showcases the result of concerted efforts by health organizations and the government to improve public health standards. Not only does it signify a major accomplishment in global health, but it also serves as an inspiration to other nations grappling with similar challenges.
