A massive demonstration was organized in Baghdad, Iraq, where participants displayed banners stating, “The death of Gaza’s children from starvation is a disgrace to all humanity.”
This comes amid escalating warnings of a famine threat looming over Gaza, especially its northern region, due to the Israeli blockade and obstruction of aid trucks.
In Jordan, crowds gathered for a protest near the American Embassy in Amman, called by the “National Forum for the Support of Resistance.”
The protest, titled “An American Crime with Arab Complicity,” expressed outrage over Israel’s threatened attack on Rafah.
Demonstrators carried banners labeling America as “the head of terrorism” and the Rafah aggression as “an American-Zionist crime,” calling for an end to the genocide. Chants supporting the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and against the United States, including “America is the devil supporting Zionism,” were heard.
The United States used its veto power on Tuesday to block an Algerian resolution in the Security Council calling for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza. Jordanian protesters urged King Abdullah II to arm them for the fight against Israel.
The protest also condemned the “land bridge betrayal,” referring to reports of a land bridge extending from the Gulf through Jordan to Israel for goods supply, which Jordanian authorities have previously denied.
In Italy, a large demonstration took place in Florence in solidarity with the Palestinian people, with chants demanding an end to the genocide in Gaza.
In the United States, thousands marched to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) headquarters in New York on Thursday to protest its support for Israeli atrocities against Palestinians.
Protesters waved Palestinian flags and criticized US senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand for receiving funds from the committee. The march occasionally clashed with the New York police, leading to several arrests.
In San Francisco, California, pro-Palestinian demonstrators stormed a hotel where President Joe Biden was staying, demanding a ceasefire. They accused Biden of genocide, coinciding with his presidential campaign visit to the city.
The United States continues to provide substantial political support and airdrops thousands of tons of weapons and ammunition to Israel in its war on Gaza.
